Build Your Future Initiative to Sponsor NASCAR Truck Series Driver David Starr in 2013

ALACHUA, Fla. — The Build Your Future Initiative announced it has renewed its sponsorship of No. 81 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver David Starr for the 2013 season. After his successful fifteenth Truck Series season in 2012, BYF was eager to expand its support of Starr in its third consecutive season as a sponsor. This expanded sponsorship will include a brand new BYF racing suit, in addition to BYF’s season-long presence on the No. 81 Toyota.

BYF and Chasco Constructors will adorn Starr’s Toyota at the season-opening Nextera Energy Resources 250 at the famed Daytona International Speedway on Friday, Feb. 22. Steely Lumber Company Inc., Striping Technology LP, Niece Equipment LP and the North American Crane Bureau will be associate sponsors on the BYF/Chasco Constructors No. 81 at Daytona.

“David is an ideal ambassador for BYF. As a young man, career and technical education provided him an avenue that allowed him to achieve his dream of becoming a professional driver. CTE provides that same opportunity for young people to pursue careers in construction,” said Diane Greene, executive director of BYF. “In David, we were fortunate to find a successful driver who also has genuine enthusiasm for our goal of making CTE a priority in secondary schools.”

Starr will also be a special guest speaker at several BYF-sponsored career events throughout the year, including two events which will precede Truck Series races. BYF’s North Carolina Construction Career Day in May will be followed by the N.C. Education Lottery 200 on May 17 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Starr will also appear at BYF’s Texas Construction Career Day prior to running in the WinStar World Casino 350 on Nov. 1 at Texas Motor Speedway.

The Nextera Energy Resources 250 will mark Starr’s 307th career start in the Truck Series, where he has four victories, 47 top-five and 106 top-10 finishes over the previous 15 seasons. The race will begin at 7:30 p.m. Eastern and will be shown live on SPEED TV. It will also be broadcast live via the Motor Racing Network and on SIRIUSXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
