Tocci Building Companies Begins Renovation of 120,000 SF Facility

WOBURN, Mass. — Tocci Building Companies recently kicked off the renovation of a 120,000-square-foot facility at 65 Grove Street in Watertown, Massachusetts. The $13-million project will transform an outdated manufacturing plant into a premier office space.

65 Grove Street, formerly the home of GE Ionics, currently features a three-story brick façade, ribbon windows and an attached parking structure. Tocci will work alongside Cresset Development on behalf of property owners Cresset Grove, LLC. The project team includes architects MDS/Miller Dyer Spears, structural engineers Souza True & Partners, MEP engineers AKF Group, civil engineers McKenzie Engineering Group and architects Kyle Zick Landscape Architecture.

Tocci will coordinate with all parties, including glass and design build mechanical subcontractors, to manage the project through all phases. Property improvements to 65 Grove Street will include significant façade improvements, ground water infiltration systems consisting of bio-swales (with added plant life), a 290-space parking garage and enhanced landscaping. Upon completion in May 2016, the community will benefit from transforming an outdated facility into a modern, first-class office setting in a sought-after location just outside of Boston.

65 Grove Street is located within Coolidge Square in Watertown, providing easy access to Boston and various public transportation options.
