Houston Fall Prevention Safety Day is May 12

HOUSTON, Texas — To support the OSHA's National Safety Stand-Down to prevent falls in construction, Houston South Area Office OSHA U.S. Department of Labor, Associated Builders and Contractors of Greater Houston, American Subcontractors Association-Houston Chapter, Central South Carpenters Regional Council, Gulf Coast Safety Institute/College of the Mainland   and Scaffold & Access Industry Association have aligned to offer the Houston, Texas area construction industry an afternoon of presentations and demonstrations to assist in preventing falls.

The inaugural Houston Fall Prevention Day will start at 1 p.m. on May 12. Presentations followed by demonstrations on how to prevent falls will run until 6 p.m. Attendees will learn proper techniques to inspect scaffold plank, how to correctly inspect fall protection, how to assess jobs while using aerial work platforms, as well as rescue methods, and more.

Attendees will receive complimentary registration that will include food and drinks, many door prizes and tools and resources to help prevent falls in construction. Owners, managers, general contractors, safety directors, subcontractors and the workers that are in the construction industry will find value in the Houston Fall Prevention Safety Day.
