Turner Construction Company Recognized for Leadership in Community Outreach, Education

Turner Construction Company was recently recognized by the National Society of Black Engineers with a Corporate Education Partnership Award. The Golden Torch Awards recognize and honor individuals, organizations and institutions that have enriched the engineering and construction industry with their intelligence, talent and vision, and distinguished themselves by advancing opportunities for African Americans. Through the Turner School for Construction Management and YouthForce 2020, Turner strives to foster curiosity, inspire passion and provide support and guidance to people in the construction industry.

Reflecting on the recognition, and on Turner's long history of productive partnership with NSBE, Sonia Irving, a purchasing agent with Turner and NSBE member said, “Our relationship with NSBE does more than give Turner access to a great pool of hire candidates, it demonstrates to our clients and partners how committed we are to working with organizations that are doing good things in the community. I always like to see people that are doing great work get recognized.”

Additionally, NSBE recognized Glenn Dickerson, a superintendent in Turner's Philadelphia office, with a Young Technical Professional Member on the Move award.
