ASCC Releases Concrete Employee Safety DVD

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — The American Society of Concrete Contractors, St. Louis, Mo., has released a new Employee Safety Orientation DVD for concrete contractors. The training tool was developed by members of the ASCC's Safety & Risk Management Council and released at the World of Concrete 2014.

“This 40-minute presentation on the basics of concrete construction safety topics can be used by concrete contractors to educate new employees, and as a refresher for seasoned workers,” says Janet Greco, SRMC chair.

Shot on active concrete construction sites, the concrete safety DVD covers alcohol and substance abuse, PPE, pre-task planning, hand and power tools, fire prevention, excavation and trenching, handling fresh concrete, forming, rebar, pumping, hazardous materials and much more. An accompanying User Guide explains how to use the DVD most effectively and contains sample test questions.
